Welcome to Whalley in Bloom!

Whalley is a beautiful village in the Ribble Valley. Whalley in Bloom is a community group who undertake general gardening and planting tasks around the village, with the support of local businesses and other local community groups. Our aim is to fill Whalley with colour and make it an even more wonderful place to live, work and visit.

We’re so grateful for the support we get from our local retailers, our community and from our wonderful volunteers, please read on for more information.

Our wonderful gardening volunteers are out come rain come shine, gardening and beautifying the village. We have many other behind the scenes volunteers too. All play a vital part in raising funds, delivering projects and promoting Whalley in Bloom within and beyond the village.

We are fortunate to receive an annual grant from Whalley Parish Council which helps us plant and enhance many public spaces in the village.

A new wildflower bed was created in Autumn 2020 to provide an important source of pollen and nectar for our bees and other insects. The work was carried out at Procter’s Field in the centre of the village, involving the removal of the turf followed by sowing a special mix of native wildflower seeds.

Other activities include planting, general gardening, new bed creation, watering, weeding (of course!) and leaf clearing, as well as taking orders for and delivering Spring and Winter hanging baskets.

We were delighted to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Whalley in Bloom in 2021.
